There is no reason not to have one of these in your container. They are cheap, light weight, and could save you breaking your back some day. They are pretty much unnoticeable when wearing the rig.
If you own a container from Apex there is a pocket between the floor plate and the back pad that these will slide into. They will also fit into the stash bag pocket on containers from other manufacturers.
